Mary has been working on her Brownie Girl Scout Space Exploration Try-It. For one requirement she had to draw a picture of herself in a space suit and explain all of the parts of the suit (notice the American Flag on her shoulder). Later, I taught her to identify some stars using a star map and we are planning a trip to look at stars and the moon using our telescope. After learning about star maps, Mary colored her drawing and added some stars. The constellation under the earth is the Big Dipper, the constellation on the top right is Cassiopeia, and the constellation on the bottom right is Perseus. It's a little bit faint, but the Milky Way passes through the middle of the drawing. Saturn is above Perseus.
